SRG Trainer Development Program: Building Future Coaches and Leaders

The SRG Trainer Development Program is a unique, free opportunity for young people passionate about gymnastics to gain hands-on experience in coaching, leadership, and essential business tools. Tailored for high school and college students with gymnastics experience, this program helps participants develop foundational skills, receive mentorship from experienced coaches, and learn basic business practices—all while making a positive impact on young gymnasts.

Program Overview:
This program provides essential training not only in rhythmic gymnastics coaching but also in developing professional and social skills. Participants will gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment, preparing them to effectively coach and support students of all ages while learning the basics of managing classes and creating positive, engaging lessons.

  • Duration: 25 hours of training (minimum requirement. Average 9-13 visit)
  • Tuition: Free
  • Goal: To equip young people with coaching, communication, leadership, and basic business skills through real-world experience and mentorship

What You’ll Learn:

  1. Foundations of Rhythmic Gymnastics Coaching
    • Participants will develop essential rhythmic gymnastics coaching techniques, including leading warm-ups, assisting in stretches, and guiding students in age-appropriate skills. They’ll learn how to create safe, engaging, and effective training sessions for young gymnasts.
  2. Professional Communication and Leadership
    • Effective communication is crucial in coaching. Participants will practice delivering constructive feedback, motivating students, and building a positive class environment. Leadership training includes setting clear expectations, encouraging safe practices, and fostering team spirit.
  3. Age-Appropriate Teaching and Support
    • Trainees will learn to address the unique developmental needs of different age groups, providing both physical and mental support tailored to each. This training includes understanding how to encourage students positively, build resilience, and nurture confidence in a safe and structured environment.
  4. Safety and Injury Prevention
    • Safety is a top priority. Participants will learn foundational safety practices and technical spotting/support techniques to create a secure environment for young athletes.
  5. Practical Experience in Class Management
    • Through hands-on practice, trainees will gain experience managing class dynamics, organizing equipment, and maintaining an energetic yet focused atmosphere. This will help them develop group management skills that apply to coaching and beyond.
  6. Basic Business Tools for Coaches
    • To support their development as well-rounded trainers, participants will also learn to use essential business tools. Training includes:
      • Music and Video Editing Apps: Editing music and videos for routines and training sessions
      • Flyer Creation: Basic design skills for creating flyers to promote events or programs
      • Professional Manners: Introduction to basic business etiquette, including communicating with parents, scheduling, and maintaining professionalism in all interactions
  7. Guided Mentorship and Feedback
    • Each trainee will be paired with an experienced SRG coach for personalized mentorship and feedback. This support ensures that trainees build confidence as they lead exercises, teach techniques, and develop their own coaching style.
  8. Final Evaluation and Certification
    • After completing at least 25 hours of training, trainees who demonstrate proficiency will receive the SRG Trainer Certification, marking their achievement and coaching readiness. This certification also positions trainees for future opportunities in coaching or other roles within SRG.
